Ruth Lawson

Ruth W. Lawson serves as President of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, the five-star accredited business organization representing Jefferson Parish. She is the fourth president in the organization's history. Prior to the Chamber, Lawson was Executive Director of the Jefferson Parish Finance Authority, where she managed an operating budget and portfolio of roughly $20 million in investments, cash, and securities. Her earlier public service in Jefferson Parish included roles as Senior Parish Attorney and Chief Administrative Officer, and she later worked as a corporate attorney and compliance officer for Barriere Construction Company, L.L.C. Alongside her husband, Lawson co-owns several Smoothie King franchises. She holds a Juris Doctor from Louisiana State University Law School and a bachelor's degree in Marketing, also from LSU. In 2023 she was named to the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives' Forty Under 40 list.
